IGBT based discharge circuits

IGBT based discharge circuits form quasi-rectangular pulses on a flashlamp using energy stored in external capacitors bank. They also provide simmer current during the interval between pulses. By default, NBU-0808 and NBU-1012 include capabilities both for serial and external triggering.

NBU-1012 discharge circuit

NBU-1012 is a general-purpose discharge circuit. It forms quasi-rectangular pulses on a flashlamp and provides simmer current between pulses.

  • Flashlamp voltage - up to 1000 V
  • Flashlamp current - up to 1000 A
  • Pulse width - from 50 us to 100 ms
  • Includes a built-in simmer supply module and all necessary flashlamp trigger circuits

NBU-0808 discharge circuit

NBU-0808 is a general-purpose discharge circuit. It forms quasi-rectangular pulses on a flashlamp and provides simmer current between pulses. Includes IGBT, its driver, protective circuits, simmer and trigger circuits and controls Both for serial and external triggering.

  • Flashlamp voltage - up to 800 V (1000V on request)
  • Flashlamp current - up to 1000 A

NBD-0505-PWM discharge circuit

NBD-0505-PWM, a PWM-based discharge circuit, forms on a flashlamp true-rectangular pulses with regulated width and provides simmer current between pulses.

  • Flashlamp voltage - up to 500 V
  • Flashlamp current - up to 500 A
  • Pulse width - from 0.5 ms to 100 ms
  • Max. average power - 2 kW
  • Free-discharge option with the 800 V / 800 A

The module includes integrated inductance coil (80 uH) and small capacitor bank (~ 1 mF / 800 V) as well as simmer and trigger circuits.
